Mentally challenged man flogged in St. Ann

A mentally unstable young man was on Friday the victim of physical abuse in Ocho Rios, St. Ann.

The man’s identity has not yet been ascertained.

Eyewitnesses say that the young man was shirtless in the street and was wreaking havoc on motorists.

The unidentified man incessantly chanted “rastafari” and used his hands to smack passing cars in an effort to damage the vehicles.

A group of men then approached the mentally challenged man and beat him to near unconsciousness.

The amateur video was recorded by an eyewitness who was on the second floor of a building.

In the video the group of men can be seen using knives and blunt objects to attack and physically abuse the young man.

Social media users voiced their anger and calls for men’s mental health to be taken seriously.
