A man who the police listed as Hanover’s most wanted was fatally wounded by the police in the parish on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased is Remearo McCallum otherwise known as ‘Macky’ a 33-year-old of Cold Spring District in Ramble, Hanover.
Reports are that Macky was gunned down in a confrontation with security forces about 1:30pm.
The police say an intelligence led operation brought them to a premises McCallum was hiding out.
On their arrival they were fired upon by the now deceased.
The police returned fire and Macky was found suffering from gunshot wounds.
A 9-millimeter pistol with a single round of ammunition was reportedly recovered.
Sections of Green Island Hanover are now under curfew.
