The main purpose for onboarding the newly extended course of 2022 was to incorporate these new students into the living Oak society reflected by our education’’s mission, experience, and values. The 6th level team started planning last season, actively developing ways to advance the growth mindset by setting up expectations for the mid school years, acknowledging the advantage and obligations of the students, and nurturing intellectual curiosity. This team went closely with Middle School education expert Karen Olsen and Middle School supervisor Marcia Colant to insure that organizations were in place to help these various education styles and profiles of the rising Middle School students. Manager of variety, fairness, and involvement, Adrian Takyi collaborated with Emma on designing that Middle School job mini-course for all 6th graders, which combines digital citizenship with business community and identity development.
